The steps

How it works

  1. Run your full approach on the track without jumping.
  2. A partner marks where your take-off foot lands.
  3. Adjust your start mark until it lands in the same place 3 times.
  4. Write your step count and distance.

Coaching point

Same start, same steps.

Safety: Warm up fully first. Run on flat, dry ground and stop if a muscle feels tight.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Landing zone: set a landing zone and take your approach to it, landing softly. The pair cheers each soft landing.

Challenge

Pick a level: Less (a short approach), Core (usual), More (your full approach with your coach watching). Beat your own softest landing.

Story

You are a kangaroo hopping across the plain.

My best

Beat your own count

Beat your own softest landing. Only your own number counts: today against last time.
