The steps

How it works

  1. Stand 3 yards from a wall.
  2. Throw underarm and catch with two hands 10 times.
  3. Switch to one-hand catches with each hand.
  4. Count clean catches out of 20.

Coaching point

Soft hands, give with the ball.

Safety: Throw only into clear space or a solid wall, with nobody in the way. Use a soft or light ball.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Wall catch pairs: take turns throwing and catching the rebound. Each pair keeps a run of catches.

Challenge

Pick a level: Less (close), Core (medium), More (one hand). Beat your own best run.

Story

You are a magician catching coins from the wall.

My best

Beat your own count

Beat your own best run. Only your own number counts: today against last time.
