The steps

How it works

  1. Find a small, gentle grassy slope.
  2. Your child walks or jogs up with little steps.
  3. Walk back down slowly together.
  4. Do it 4 or 5 times with a rest at the bottom.

Coaching point

Praise the try: “You made it to the top!”

Safety: A gentle slope on grass only. Walk down, never run down.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Add a helper: a favorite toy joins in “Up the Little Hill” and cheers for every try. Everyone gets a turn.
