Jump Self-Tracking on Video

A parent films your jumps from the side so you can check height, leg position and timing against your own last clip.

The steps

How it works

  1. Have a parent film 3 toe-touches from the side on their own phone.
  2. Pause at the top: are your legs level with your hips?
  3. Check if you hit at the top or on the way down.
  4. Compare with your last video and pick one fix.

Coaching point

Hit at the top.

Safety: Warm up first. Land on two feet with soft knees on a mat or sprung floor, never concrete. Stop if your knees or ankles hurt. Film only on a parent's or the coach's device, with a parent's OK, never in a changing area, and never post it online.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Shape-call game: a partner calls a jump shape you already know and you show it and land softly. Swap, and the pair collects ten soft landings.

Challenge

Pick a level: Less (the shape standing), Core (a low jump), More (a full jump with a soft landing). Move up only with your coach’s OK.

Story

You are a shooting star leaping across the night sky.
