Spare Chart on Paper

Build a one-page chart that says where to stand and which arrow to aim at for each common spare, then test your memory.

The steps

How it works

  1. Draw the pin triangle and number the pins.
  2. List the ten leaves you see most, such as the 10 pin, the 7 pin and the 4-6 split.
  3. For each one, write where you stand and which arrow you aim at.
  4. Cover the chart and quiz yourself on 6 leaves, then check.

Coaching point

Same plan every time, then trust it.

Safety: Clear a small space with nothing to trip on or knock over. Stop if anything hurts.

Make it fun

Play it, don't drill it

Game version

Pin-pick game: pick a spare leave and aim for it. The pair keeps one total of spares made and tries to top its own last session.

Challenge

Pick a leave: Less (two pins), Core (three), More (a split you choose). Beat your own best spares.

Story

You are a detective cleaning up the last pins one by one.

My best

Beat your own count

Beat your own best spares. Only your own number counts: today against last time.
